PROGRAMME TEXT
Buckley Circuit is exceptionally rich in the young life associated with its Churches. The number of Sunday School Scholars, 1413, places it in the premier position among the Stations of the Liverpool District. The Schools are staffed by a fine body of Teachers, of whose faithfulness and devotion it would be impossible to speak too highly. Of the fruitfulness of their labours we have recently had experience. Since the New Year, more than 240 conversions have been recorded in the Circuit, and in almost every case, these are young people whose decision had been prepared for the teaching and influence of the Sunday School. It is noteworthy that more than 500 of our Scholars are over 14 years of age, and the proportion of youths and young men is unusually high. Their attachment to the Sanctuary is deep and steady and they can always be depended upon when help is needed. Sixty or more of our young men are serving with the colours. We admire their loyalty and devotion. The number would undoubtedly have been larger, but for pressing demands of local industries. May God protect them, and, when the stern task of the hour is accomplished, bring them back to us safe and well. Most of our Schools have useful Temperance organisations. Queensferry has a successful Endeavour Society. Alltami supports a largely attended wee evening Bible Class. Buckley has a Junior Endeavour and vigorous Young People's Meeting, and there and at Penyffordd we have flourishing companies of the "Boys' Brigade" In its wealth of young life the Circuit presents unmeasured possibilities and we confidently look to our young people to realise them.
