"Sapper H. Keighley, R.E., son of Mrs Keighley 3, Bilton Drive, Harrogate /formerly of Pateley Bridge/ has been commended for gallant conduct. Major Sidney Lawfield, commanding the 41st Division says...

 

"I wish to place on record my appreciation of your gallant conduct while in charge of R.E. dumps. Your dumps were frequently shelled, but you stayed at your job, thereby greatly exediting the issue of stores for work in the front line."

 

Sapper Keighley has a brother Sapper G. Keighley in Mesopotamia and another brother Archie, is with the 62nd Division in France.
