This barrow was one of many used in the brickworks for ferrying bricks efficiently around the site.

It was called a hack or tram barrow. This one was in a derelict state waiting for someone with the expertise to restore it. In 2012, Keith Shone, a member of the Buckley Society, offered to do the woodwork as the original was riddled with woodworm in every section and could not be saved.
I stripped down the metal works, Phil Hodges and I cleaned the metalwork and repainted it; Keith rebuilt the oak frame. Materials were paid for by the Buckley Society.
The work was completed by the end of May in order for the barrow to be on display at the Buckley Society stand on the 4th June 2012, for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, organised by the Buckley Town Council. A little piece of Buckley's brick industry comes back to life!
