James Shone who carried on the business was my grandfather. He had one arm due to an accident on the railway.

Herbert Shone was my father - 2.7.1902 - 2.5.1981.

The business started using lorries in 1938 and was kept going during WWII. The first vehicle was bought from Richardson's.
