Railway Siding for Mountain Colliery"

Mountain Colliery, Buckley

1950

The Mountain Colliery stands where the photo is taken, with Knowle Lane to the right.

At the top is Church Road where the white gates of the level crossing stand. In the middle distance is a waggon. These used to carry 10 tonne of bulk coal. The waggon used to travel down the siding under its own steam but was pushed back up the siding by a tractor with a bumper on it.
