This is what I believe to be the only photo of my grandfather, John Edward Peters - born and died in Buckley.

Likewise the photo of my grandmother, Elizabeth Peters, at 226.5.

The photos are probably taken around the time of their marriage - 1908 - when they moved to the White Cottage, The Square.

The five children from the marriage were

Edward John (1909 - 1935) - born and died in Buckley. Married Edith Shepherd.

Bessie (1910 - 1997) - born Buckley and died Exeter. Married Norman Price.

Dennis (1913 - 1936) - born and died in Buckley.

Jabez (1916 - 2002) - Married Brenda Ratcliffe.

Hilda (1918 - 2011) - born Buckley and died Penyffordd. Married Les Williams. My impression is that Hilda had a number of jobs during her lifetime, so a connection with the Cosy Cafe is a possibility, whichI cannot verify. (See 243.3)

I have had a fair degree of success in tracking down the Evans line in Buckley pre 1908. Elizabeth came from a large family that lived at various times in High Street and Main Street, Buckley. Her father was Jabez Evans and her mother was Eliza Parry.

From the marriage certificate John Edward Peters was a miner and so was his father Edward Peters.
