The Metal Hill of the Mountain Colliery"

Mountain Colliery, Buckley

1950

To the left of the trees in the centre are the two pit head remains of the Mountain Colliery; right stands the working chimney of the Lane End Brickworks. The Metal Bank (or Hill) on the right was the waste from the colliery which used to be taken away by diggers to the Castle Top Yard in Pinfold Lane to make bricks.

The current pond (2.2012) is located off the photo at the back of the photographer to the left.
