These were my grandparents. William was born at Brook Farm, which was part of the Hawarden estate.

Ada's maiden name was Smethurst; she came from Bunbury.

William was a contractor for the woodwork on Saint Deiniol's Library (now the Gladstone Library (2011)). He also was involved in the restoration of Saint Matthew's Church roof; and worked on the masonic lodge at Hawarden. He later returned to farming.
