The Wrexham footballer, Eddie May, and his wife opened the Buckley Cricket Club Field Day. He was accompanied by Councillor Adrian Jones and his wife, Doreen.

Maureen Shone, Burntwood, was elected Miss Buckley 1972.

Miranda Redfern was Miss Rosebud.

The five-a-side football competition was won by Burntwood, beating Buckley Wanderers in the final.
