1860
Many years ago, this disc was found in a garage near to the original winding shed for the Nant Mawr Colliery. The family had lived at the property for several generations. Nothing is known about it, except that the disc was probably mounted on its metal backing at a later date. It is made of either copper or bronze. It may be a coin, similar to the Flint Leadworks penny, or a tally with the backing providing the hole with which to hang it at the colliery.
