THIS ACCOUNT IS FROM AN UNKNOWN NEWSPAPER. The talkies superseded the silent films from 1927 and after a decade they had completely taken their place.

TO TALK OR NOT TO TALK?

A music-loving follower of the screen writes:- "Last week I had my first experience on the "Talkies." Up to the time of writing I see no reason for swerving in my allegiance to the silent films as exhibited at our "Savoy" with the important collateral attraction of Mr H. E. Rowlands and his highly efficient orchestra."
