This account of Mrs Rowlands' marriage to Howell Elfet Rowlands was taken from an unknown newspaper. He was a musician who played locally in many events. Amongst other activities, he composed music, formed his own orchestras and played during the silent films at the Palace Cinema. The entries under the number 241 are copied from the scrapbook Mrs Rowlands compiled of his musical career. The ones included on our archive are those of interest to Buckley.
MARRIAGE OF MR H. E. ROWLANDS
The wedding took place very quietly on Saturday at the English Congregational Church, Mold of Mr Howell Elfet Rowlands, 23, Brunswick Road, Buckley the popular leader of the Savoy orchestra, Mold and Miss Margaret Jean Catherall, of Broncoed Park. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Meurig Thomas, of the English Congregational Church, Buckley. The bride was attired in her travelling costume, and the newly-married pair immediately left for Southport on their honeymoon.
