In July 12013, Councillor Neville Phillips was presented with a long-service award by Councillor Carolyn Thomas. He was first elected to Alyn and Deeside District Council in 1973 (he was chairman in 1980 - 81) and to Flintshire in 1995. Between 2008 and May 2012 he was executive member for corporate services at the council. He had also served as a Buckley Town Councillor.
