We extend a warm welcome to Bangor City - the first professional team to play in competitive football on Hawkesbury ground. They are enjoying a very good season in the Cheshire County League and last week trounced the League Leaders 9 - 1.

For the benefit of the statistician the last time a Buckley team played Bangor City was on April 21st 1937, and Bangor were then operating in the Birmingham League. So after sixteen years we meet again - Amateur v. Professional. The team representing Buckley Town was - T. J. Catherall, K. Parrish, H. Harvey, R. Dunn, P. Millington, J. Kelsall, F.Campbell, Gib. Bellis, H. Williams, J. G. Garston, L. Hughes with the ever-green Harry Messham as reserve. Buckley Town were defeated 4 - 1 but all credit was due to them on reacing the semi-final of the North Wales Challenge Cup.

This season we are putting Buckley to the front in the Sporting World by virtue of our goal scoring achievements and to-date the sharp-shooting foreward line have scored 127 goals.

It is indeed a fine performance on the part of our team to reach the 5th round of the Welsh Senior Cup in consecutive seasons.

In conclusion, we are looking forward to a Clean, Sporting Game, and....."MAY THE BEST SIDE PREVAIL".
