January 2010
THIS EMAIL WAS RECEIVED ALONG WITH THE PHOTOS HERE (AT 233.1. AND 233.2)
I was exploring at the ruins of the old Duffws Casson slate mine, high above Blaenau Ffestiniog, on Saturday (9th January 2010). The attached photos show three blocks which are in situ either side of a window space in one of the buildings. (233.1.and 233.2.)
Having done a Google search on the brick manufacturer I found your site (The Buckley Society)and noticed that you do not have a picture of such a block. I guess it may well be that someone has previously sent you a picture of these but I thought I'd send it on the off-chance.
If you would like to find out more about the location I'm sure some of the mining enthusiasts I'm in contact with could easily date the building and say more about its history.
Regards,
Lawrence Washington - Penrhyndeudraeth
