THE WEDDING OF MR AND MRS PETER WILLIAMS
BETHEL WELSH CALVANISTIC METHODIST CHURCH
PHOTO WAS TAKEN AT THE RECEPTION AT FRON HAUL, MOLD ROAD
This photograph was taken by Lan E. Sims of Buckley and is a rare example of a group of the more affluent Buckley families - Hopwood, Iball, Cropper, Rowlands are all well-known Buckley surnames.
Mr and Mrs Thomas Hopwood, on the left, were my maternal grandparents. My mother was born in 1897.
The date of the photograph was worked out from the age of little Noel Cropper in the front row who was born in 1903. Mrs Winnie Cropper married his brother Neil in 1936, the same year that Noel died, aged 33. Neil and Winnie's son was called Noel and he ran the Lane End Post Office with his wife for many years.
