Eddie was the son of Edwin Humphreys, a Buckley Alderman and Emily.

Ephraim's mother Martha, nee Humphreys. His father was Samuel. He owned Green and Padgett's and he was also a town councillor.

They were both first cousins to Wynne Humphreys.
