The new Vicarage replaces the original parsonage house of the parish which was situated on the opposite side of Church
Road. This house was demolished in 1967 and the land sold to provide funds for the new Vicarage.
Building commenced in March 1968 on land donated by the late Mr. C. A. Gladstone, of Hawarden Castle.
The architect was Mr. R. B. Heaton, B.Arch., F.R.I.B.A., and the builders Messrs. Shones (Buckley) Ltd., Drury, Buckley.
The planning of the project was delegated by the Parochial Church Council to a building committee of which Mr. J. C. Jones
was Chairman, Miss H. M. Birks secretary and Mr. G. N. Wynne, treasurer. During the period of planning and building the
Churchwardens were Mr. T. Hodgson, Mr. D. H. B. Millward and Mr. J. Hewitt. The secretary of the Parochial Church Council
was Dr. M. R. Herford.
