Dear Mrs Lamb
(Crossed out: My dear Mother)
This young son of yours is a lively stick now that he can get up in the clothes basket as he calls it. You would hardly know him now, he is looking so well and full of life.
He is going to the pictures on Wednesday (?) night. A lump of (?) gold out of his shoulders as he says but won't be a serious one.
Every Saturday he goes down to the YMCA in w/chair, some young ladies always take him down. He (?) got a good teasing from the nurses last Saturday. He made arrangements on Tuesday to go out for the afternoon on Saturday 3 pm but turned up late, so went out with two other young ladies & what a teasing he did get afterwards. The sister (?) that (?) attended him had gone to another ward and is regretting it.
His wounds are healing nicely now & do not hurt him at all, while being dressed. Neither of us are likely to get up for sometime. He is suggesting that we should get up & go for a walk. He says tell 'em I'm alright & in the pink, - no need to worry. Getting best of attention & looking splendid.
Yours sincerely
A bedmate
to Wilfred
