The new post office in Drury was officially opened in June 2013 by Carl Sargeant, Assembly Member, and Mark Tami, MP. It was based in Wainwrights' Convenience Store, which had been trading since 1930, firstly by Sam Wainwright, then by his son, Alan. Sam's granddaughter and Alan's daughter, Deborah Wainwright, was to be the new operator of the post office.
