INFORMATION ON JOHN WILLIAM WILLIAMS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES.

John "Ginger" Williams played football for Wales. Joined Millwall in 1914 from Crystal Palace for then Millwall's biggest transfer fee. Played 50 Southern League games for Millwall and scored 11 goals. Born in 1885 to William and Elizabeth Williams of Burntwood. In 1901 living at 18 Long Row, Pentre. Married Sarah Ellen Connah and had a son Ken, a publican in Mold and Pantymwyn (xvi).

The following is extracted from a letter written by his son, Ken's wife on 31st October 1979.
"At last I have been able to find out something for you about John W. Williams.
" He came from Buckley and lived at a farm not far from our Chapel on the Common and he was known as John Will Farm (I don't know why "John"). He was known in football circles at "Ginger". He married a lady whose surname was Cunnah. They had a son called Ken Williams and he married a girl called Ennis Thornton and they used to be publicans in Mold and Pantymwyn…."

Extra information provided by the family.
After John's death, Sarah did not remarry. There are two or three medals which in September 2000 were in the possession of his daughter-in-law. He lived at 12, Myrtle Road.
