LOG BOOK FROM MAY 25TH 1941
Sunday May 25th 1941
Work. Betty and I had lunch in woods, roused by a smell of onions. Doreen "sacked."
Monday May 26th 1941
Work. Betty and I lunched in woods. Bet saw rabbit - shouted as though she'd seen giraffe. Went to "Haunted House" (Old Lodge). Stole rhubarb. Eat raw.
Tuesday May 27th 1941
Work. Lunched as walking through wood. Stole rhubarb. Went towards farm. Locked. Rhododendrons. Waded through nettles.
Wednesday May 28th 1941
Work. Nothing particular happened. Wed. night (rather Thurs. morning) I saw a German plane brought down Ewloe Place. Severe damage done to surrounding houses.
Thursday May 29th 1941
Work. To park for lunch. Walk into wood. Fell off wall. Bad cold. No raid.
Friday May 30th 1941
Work. Bad cold still. Air raid.
Saturday May 31st
Work till 12.30. Holiday till Tuesday. Pictures with Vannie and John. Air Raid.
