Buckley United F. C.

 

An Agreement between Buckley United F. C. of Brunswick Rd and John Evans of No. 4, The Cross Buckley whereby the aforesaid Buckley United do agree to pay the said John Evans the sum of Twenty Shillings per match for all matches he plays for them as a professional footballer and the aforesaid John Evans does agree to accept same.

H. Shone is probably Harold Shone who ran the main post office on The Cross. He was probably the secretary of the Club.

 

John (Jabez) Evans was one of about four brothers all of whom played good football: Jabez was one.

John Evans was Harry Evans' brother. See 6.90.
