Harry Panton's Baptism Card"

Frank and Maria Panton were married in 1899. He was from Sheffield but settled in Buckley as a hairdresser. The first shop was in Chester Road; the family left for Sheffield in about 1910. He ran his second Buckley shop from 53, Chester Road (James Bentley's original pharmacy).

 

In Bennett's Business Directory for Buckley 1913 - 14, the entry reads: "Pantin F hairdresser, Chester rd".

In Benett's Business Directory for Buckley 1936, the entry reads:

"Panton F, hairdresser, The Square".

 

 

Their children were: Pattie, Harry, Bessie, Mary (Molly), Amy and Ona. Molly and her husband ran Fennah's chippy on Daisy Hill in the 1950s.

See 139.29 for the same picture of the old church in the programme of the Grand Bazzar of 1906. The alterations were made to the church in 1902.
