Samuel Jones died at Ormskirk from pneumonia aged 60 on 11th February 1930 and was buried at Saint John's 15th February. He was married to Annie Jones and was from Lane End. He was a brick kiln burner and was working at Ormskirk when he was taken ill. He had been well known in Buckley. He was son-in-law to Councillor Joel Williamson.
