In March 2009, it was reported that The Royal Buckley Town Band had won Section Three of the Welsh Regional Brass Band Championship at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea with The Once and Future King by Andrew Baker. The band, conducted by Paul Lovatt-Cooper, had also qualified for the National Brass Band Championship of Great Britain.
