'Winter of 47': LNER Class J67 8531 at Buckley Junction: railway painting by Jayne Kerys Edwards "

"WINTER OF 47"

This was made into a Christmas card in 2006.

This painting of Buckley Junction depicts LNER ClassJ67 on a train to Hawarden Bridge, where the engine will go on to turn on the triangle, thus chimney facing first to Wrexham (ie. the correct way). The engine was transferred briefly from Gorton (Manchester) c.1946 - 47 to work on the Buckley branch. I don't know how long it was shedded at Wrexham, Rhos Ddu shed.

The winter of 1947 was even worse, I think, than that of 1963.
