JUBILEE QUILT
Commissioned by the Jubilee Committee 2006 to commemorate the 150th Buckley Jubilee 1857-2006: co-ordinated and designed by Kath Lloyd. The initial meeting took place on 31st January 2006. Eleven churches designed and made their own quilting blocks (squares). Two embroidered blocks were made up to remember the churches which had closed, been demolished or united with other churches. Last but not least The Royal Buckley Town Band, which has led us. Making 14 blocks in all.
The centre piece - the Cross which leads us all in our Christian march, designed and made by Kath Lloyd. The quilt was completed in 5 months and measures 94" by 74".
Most of the ladies had not attempted anything like this before and all credit goes to them for their wonderful achievement.
