The Buckley Olde Time Dance Band playing at a tramps' ball"

Vaughan Hall, Shotton

1958

We used to call Len Bartlet "Big Len."

Arthur Jones used to run old time dance classes in the British Legion Institute hut (called "the hut") in Church Road on a Friday, in the late 1940s, early 1950s. We used a record player. I remember the Saint Bernard's Waltz, the valleta, Gay Gordons. In the Albert Hall, there were sequence dances as well to the band.
