The following report of a school inspection is taken from the Bistre Emmanuel Church Magazine
JULY 66
BISTRE SCHOOL
The School was inspected in Religious Education by the Diocesan Inspector, The Rev. J. T. Jones, on Wednesday, 15th June. 89 pupils received certificates. Here is a copy of the inspector's report.
"Infants - The act of worship was offered with devotion and dignity, with the children sharing and joining in. There was a ready and eager response to my questions and the answers showed that the children had a good grasp of the factual teaching which they had been given. The expression work of the older class was very good.
Juniors - Morning worship had been carefully prepared and the reverence and sincerity with which it was conducted was obvious and impressive. The tradition of the school for its singing was very clearly maintained. In all the divisions I found that the children had been carefully instructed in the Christian faith and had a good understanding of its implications. The teaching of the Catechism is given its due place and memory work was thorough. The written work was most commendably accurate and the children expressed themselves well in the work which they given to do.
It was good to learn that the children attend their Parish Church on certain Festivals and so link their religious instruction in school with the life of the Church in the Parish.
Religious instruction in this school is carried out conscientiously and thoroughly."
