Harold Stokes' Home Guard Kit"

These items were handed into the library in January 2006 by a lady who used to be a neighbour of Mr and Mrs Harold Stokes, of Ewloe Place. Mrs Stokes gave the items to their neighbour for safe keeping after Mr Stokes died. The neighbour then moved from Ewloe Place and donated the items to the museum service. They had a daughter who married Teddy Davies. The items had a label which said: Home Guard Hat, Armband, and Helmet of the late H. Stokes, Ewloe Place.
