Mr. J. Mitchell, Davisons
Dear Mr. Mitchell,
I hope you will forgive me if this letter reaches you after you have actually retired, but I have, unfortunately, been absent on business, which has occasioned delay.
Neither I nor the Board would, however, wish to let this occasion pass without placing on record our high appreciation of your long and honourable association with this Company and we would like to wish you many years of happy retirement.
As a material token of that appreciation, I am pleased to tell you that it has been decided to make you an ex-gratia payment of £1 per week and Mr. Fishburne will be happy to advise you as to the manner of its payment.
Thank you for your many years of faithful service.
Yours Sincerely,
J. Gregory
Production Director
