A quick, furtive drink at the 'Tram Door'!"

Grandstand Public House, Burntwood, Buckley

see 1.322 - end of article where the Tram Door drinking is mentioned. It seemed the carters were out of sight of the boss at this point along the tramway and took advantage of this piece of good fortune by running ahead of the plodding horse to down a hasty, illicit swig at the pub door, placed there by a complicit landlord, before Neddy lurched by with his load.

Empty trams proceeding up Wood Lane. The carter is having a quick drink at the "Tram Door".
