RECENT FIELDWORK IN THE BUCKLEY POTTERIES - (132.1)

The article contains a drawing of each of the nineteen potteries and a decription, plus various other images. These are entered separately under 132. 2 - 27.

SITE 11. SJ276646

?1750; 1815 (Charles Price);1860; 1871.

The site now lies under a modern house and garden, the base of the kiln itself having been demolished in recent years when a garage was erected. In 1974 adjustment of the playing field boundaries of the Elfed School, which lies to the south, has caused considerable erosion of the dump on its south and west sides. A quantity of eighteenth/nineteenth century pottery and kiln furniture, including a number of very fine mottled ware tankards were recovered.
