SITE 7. SJ277651
1815 (Bartholomew Prescot - closed). This site was the subject of an excavation by K. J. Barton (Barton,1956), when about a third of the total area was investigated. The kiln site was not located and structural finds in general were rather inconclusive. Pottery and kiln furniture of the period c.1740 - 1803 were recovered. This material is now in the Grosvenor Museum, Chester.
The site is at present covered by modern bungalows, gardens and rough pasture. No archaeological features are visible.
