Old Buckley Railway Line at Brookhill Bank"

Brookhill Bank, Buckley Railway, Buckley

2004

Wildlife Matters Autumn 2004 Issue 36:

Flintshire Community Trust have made an application to construct a new section of footpath over agricultural land off Mold Road, Ewloe. The new footpath would allow walkers along the Old Buckley Railway Line from Pickow Farm, Liverpool Road, to continue through to Mold Road, whereas currently it ends at the industrial yard.

This year there has been a lot of damage from motorbikes and quadbikes on land adjacent to this route which is included in the Buckley Commons and Claypits Site of Special Scientific Interest. They have torn up a wonderful Bluebell area, digging holes and building ramps. If the footpath improvements go ahead, with the Countryside Service it is proposed to install anti-motorbike gates in the area in an effort to stop motorbike access.
