9. Further along on the right hand side of the road stands the site of Bartholomew Prescott's pottery known to have been built soon after 1780. Part of this site, now occupied by small holdings,was excavated in 1954, but the area investigated contained no trace of the main pottery buildings. Finds of pottery from this site are now in the Grosvenor Museum, Chester.
