Thomas Cropper"

This portrait appears as the frontispiece in Thomas Cropper's book "Buckley and District". He died just a few weeks before the publication of the book.

 

According to the 1901 census, Thomas Cropper (aged 32) was living as a boarder in Liverpool Road with Edward Bellis (aged 37), a colliery clerk, his wife Elizabeth A. (aged 36), and their daughter, Nora (aged 1). He was born in Buckley, single and his profession was stated as printer.

 

He contributed articles on Buckley and district to The Cheshire Sheaf, and The Chester Chronicle.
