December 2003
In July 2007, Paul Foreman and Anna Bell became the licensees at the Hope and Anchor.
On 6th January 2009, it was reported that the pub had become a victim of the credit crunch and had had to close. The builders of the new properties opposite had wound down their operations and as a consequence the pub had lost a lot of trade. Costs of fuel, beer and food had risen: the licensees were discussing the situation with the brewery to see if a rescue package could be agreed.
