I remember on the morning of Christmas Day, the Royal Buckley Town Band used to meet in the Buckley Workingmen's Club for a drink before setting off down Brook Street, Spon Green and Lyme Grove, stopping at the Rose and Thistle for another drink. They were collecting money for instruments.

I don't know where they went after that but presumed they continued round the town, arriving home in time for their Christmas dinner.
