THE END OF A PALACE !

Redevelopment in Lane End resulted in the demolition of the Palace Cinema. The swinging iron ball crashed into the last remaining wall and the well-loved meeting place went out of existence. The final performance was in 1975. The Chester Road area of Lane End was demolished during the 1970s. The Palace Cinema was a victim.
