In 1842, the deeds state that The Buckley Railway Company bought some land from the farm owners.

Provident Iron Works, Padeswood was built by Daniel Ratcliffe, Hawarden to be alongside the new Railway to Mold and were Boiler Makers.
When the Works was demolished in the 1920s an iron-framed structure was purchased by John Roberts and is still standing at Bistre Farm converted to form a Silage Clamp.
