TRACK FROM LANE END TO DRURY
Today, the start of this track is just off Chester Road at Lane End, with a metal style to navigate. It was used as a general route through to Drury as an alternative to Church Road.
The house in the centre was a disused and ruined structure, inhabited at one time ( in the 50's?) by Fred and Annie Brock. They begged, always together, in Buckey, in, for example, Tom Dawson's butchers shop (at the bottom of Army Lane on the main road) as well as other establishments offering opportunites to cadge comestibles! They were tolerated as they were colourful and well known Buckley characters. They very rarely visited my pharmacy. They just seemed to melt away.
