Bidding by the Chaplain
We meet today to remember the Second World War 1939 - 1945. This is the 60th Anniversary and this service gives us the opportunity to remember and to give thanks for all who took part in any theatre of war. Also for those who gave their lives to bring peace to our shores. We remember those who were prisoners of war in German and Japanese camps. We reflect on those people who even today suffer disablement as a consequence of that war. We thank God for their individual sacrifice, courage and endurance.
Firstly let us keep a moment's silence, that God may bless our service today.
Let us say together...the Lord's prayer followed.
