A SINGLE ROLL CALENDER M/C FOR IRONING BED LINEN AND TABLE LINEN

 

Conveyor Belts - Carrying linen to be ironed, fed by two ladies, one each end.

 

RHS - Table (10' - 12' long by 2' wide) - would be used for catching & folding on this side of the machine.

 

The heated roller 24 - 30 degrees was clothed in a heat-resistant blanket to about 1/2" thick & then covered with a canvas sheet. A waxed sheet would then be the first one thro' to polish and clean the heated base prior to use. The speed of the roller was variable.

Approx. 12' wide - the width of the roller

This is used as a donkey for sheets etc. shaken out ready for feeding thro' calender.
