28.11.1939 29.11.1939 Sailed - Southampton - Cherbourg

29.11.1939 Train - Cherbourg - Pornichet

08.03.1940 19.03.1940 Home Leave

22.04.1940 23.04.1940 Base moved, Pornichet - Forges les Eaux

16.05.1940 Left Base - Queveuvilliers

17.05.1940 Moved nearer Doullens

18.05.1940 In action near Clery, 2.am

19.05.1940 Moved to Louvencourt, nr. Doullens

20.05.1940To Albert - air attack. Retreated & almost captured.

To Doullens, then Frevent. Cornered & taken prisoner 11 pm

21.05.1940 Walked back past Frevent to ex-British Camp

22.05.1940 Walked back to Frevent

23,05.1940 Walked to Doullens. First food

24.05.1940 Walked to place beyond Albert

25.05.1940 Walked again 5 or 6 hours

26.05.1940 Walked to Cambrai

27.05.1940 Walked to place beyond Le Cateau

28.05.1940Walked few hours, then by truck, past Dinant, and

04.06.1940 Put on train 4 pm, Crossed Germany

07.06.1940 Arrived Thorn, Poland, 2 am & Stalag 3.30 am

20.07.1940 Train from Thorn to Bruss (AK20)

15.08.1941 Left Bruss - new job at Mertschikal

16.09.1941 Caught outside wire

07.11.1941 Sent back to Stalag at Thorn

03.1942 On new working party (farming) at Gross Lunau

23.01.1945 Moved out on foot from Gross Lunau

30.01.1945 Frostbite

17.02.1945Fingers amputated at Hammerstein nr. Deutsch

18.02.1945 Left Hammerstein by train

21.02.1945 Arrived Sandbostel, Stalag XB

29.04.1945 Liberated by Grenadier Guards

01.05.1945 Documentation, then by road to Celle

01.04.1974 Alyn & Deeside formed - transferred to Hawarden

18. 11.1979 Retired from A & D.

01.12.1979Started part time with Clerk to Buckley Town

Council

01.02.1980 Took over Clerkship of Town council
