May 2005
The Summer 2005 Issue of "Wildlife Matters" states:
Field Farm, Buckley
Outline planning permission to develop land at Field Farm has already been given. Developers, Westbury Homes are proposing to develop the site and are submitting an application for detailed planning permission. It is a delightful site of small damp meadows and wonderful old hedgerows. Some of the hedgerows will remain and most of one meadow adjoining a pond used by Great crested newts. Access to the site will be off Lower Common through the Laburnum Cottage land. The development will undoubtedly put pressure on the Lower Common, parts of which are also included in the Buckley Commons and Claypits SSSI and Deeside and Buckley Newt Sites SAC. The Lower Common is particularly important for its flora.
