Gwen Bennett's maiden name was Griffiths.

Those named lived in the row. We think some children were not from the houses. We think they had come to play.

About this time the houses were condemned. We were moved out in 1960 to Alyn Road, which had just been built. The people in the picture were the first tenants. The piece of paper being held up may have been a petition for gas.

The houses were two up - two down with the toilets across the yard.
