The 21st Anniversary Exhibition for the Buckley Art Society"

Library, The Precinct, Buckley

July 1991

The exhibition space at this time was outside the librarian's office and was equiped with a screen which could be used to create some privacy for exhibitors while hanging their work. The method of hanging then was by metal rods and hooks hanging from a rail just below the ceiling. In 1996, upon local government reorganisation from Clwyd to Flintshire, the reference library was moved into this area in order to make room for the Heritage Display. An exhibition gallery was created where the reference stock has once been and the walls clad to a professional standard. This meant that all pictures had to be hung with mirror plates. This photo shows the "old" space at is was. In 2003, a much reduced reference stock was shelved behind where Jean is standing and the alcove was made into a toilet for disabled people.
