Demolition of Brook Street"

Chester Road, Buckley

April 1972

This pair of houses was on Chester Road and had deep front gardens. They were between Stevenson's Cycle Shop and Miss Lindop's house (no. 66) and were midway between the Pied Bull and Brook Street corner - some distance from the actual fire but within the clearance area.

The Army Lane toilet was not the only one in Buckley! Both "Ladies" and "Gents" were part of the Library building near the Cross from when it was. The Army Lane toilet was built post-WWII, vandalised and demolished 1950/60s. The others were used until post-1963.
